CAMP RALIO MISSION

The Camp RALIO mission is to provide an affordable Christian summer camp where students are encouraged to know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live it out. Through biblical teaching, meaningful relationships, outdoor recreation, and unforgettable camp experiences, our desire is to create a place where students can have fun, build lasting friendships, and take meaningful steps in their walk with Jesus.

Recreation is a big part of the Camp RALIO experience. Campers can enjoy a variety of water activities, field sports, crafts, games, and many other activities throughout the week. There are plenty of opportunities to have fun, try new things, and build relationships along the way.

WHAT RALIO MEANS

RALIO (pronounced “Rally-O”) means:

Renewed
And
Living
It
Out

Our desire is for students to experience the renewing work of Jesus and then take what they have learned beyond camp, living out their faith in their homes, schools, churches, friendships, and communities.

Scripture calls us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2) and reminds us that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). But renewal is not where it ends. James tells us not merely to listen to the Word, but to do what it says (James 1:22).

Titus 3:4–7 captures the heart of the word Renewed. Our renewal does not come from what we accomplish ourselves. It comes through the kindness, mercy, and grace of God and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ.

“4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:4-7 NIV

THE MEANING BEHIND OUR LOGO

Every part of the Camp RALIO logo helps tell the story behind our name and our purpose.

The rising sun represents being renewed in Christ and the new life He gives us. It also represents the light of Christ shining through His people. Jesus calls His followers to be the light of the world and to let their light shine so that others may see their lives and glorify their Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14–16)

The feet at the base of the R represent Living It Out. Following Jesus is more than hearing His Word. We are called to put our faith into action and allow what we believe to shape how we live. (James 1:22; Colossians 3:17)

The feet also remind us that followers of Jesus should be ready to carry the good news of the Gospel wherever God sends them. In the Armor of God, Paul tells us to have our feet “fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” (Ephesians 6:15)

Together, the logo represents what we hope students experience through Camp RALIO: renewed by Jesus, ready to follow Him, and living out their faith for others to see.

OUR STORY

Camp RALIO is God’s ministry.

Camp RALIO began with a shared passion for helping students know and follow Jesus through camp ministry. Although Camp RALIO was started by a small group of Christians from the Greater Portland area, the vision from the beginning was for Camp RALIO to be created each year by everyone involved. Volunteers, churches, families, supporters, prayer partners, and students all help shape the camp experience. Every person who serves, gives, encourages, prays, or participates has a part in making Camp RALIO what it is.

Camp RALIO depends on more than 100 volunteers to come alongside one another and use the gifts God has given them to invest in students. Scripture reminds us that although we have different gifts and different roles, we are one body in Christ and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

Our hope is that Camp RALIO will be a ministry where people come together, build relationships, and create an experience that points students to Jesus.
